Who we are
Workouts is made by Stellar Spectra Ltd (Stellar Spectra). We're the controller of the data described here. Contact us at apps@stellarspectra.co.uk.
The free app sends nothing
Logging workouts needs no account. Everything you log, and anything the app reads from Health Connect, stays in the app on your phone. There are no ads.
Health Connect
If you connect Health Connect, the app reads your weight, body fat, sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate, including history older than 30 days. It never writes to Health Connect. The readings are kept in the app on your phone, shown in it, and included in your backups. They leave the phone only in the Coach's workout summaries, if you use the Coach, and are never used for advertising or sold. To stop, tap Stop using Health Connect in Settings, and remove the app's access in Health Connect.
Google Drive backup
If you turn on Google Drive backup, the app saves backups to a Workouts folder in your own Google Drive. It uses Google's drive.file permission, so it can see only the files it made there. We never see your backups. Tap Disconnect in Settings to stop; backups already in your Drive stay until you delete them.
What the Coach sends, and why
The Coach is optional. Only when you sign in to it and agree to this notice, the app sends:
- Your account: your Google account's email address and ID, from signing in with Google.
- Workout summaries: for each workout day, the exercises, sets, reps, weights and how hard they felt, with workout heart rate, sleep and resting heart rate when Health Connect has them.
- Coach state: your coach settings, routine, program, goals, body measurements, recent trends and your exercise library.
- What the coach makes: the coaching it writes for you, a record of each coach run, and how much each run cost to make.
We use this only to make your coaching. Workout, heart-rate, sleep and body data are health data, so we send them only with your explicit consent, which you give when you agree to this notice. We never sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone but the processors below.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase stores your account and data and runs the coach's backend, in the EU (Ireland).
- Anthropic (Claude) writes your coaching from your summaries and coach state. It processes them in the United States, under its data processing terms, which include the UK's safeguards for transfers abroad. It doesn't use them to train its models.
- Google handles signing in with Google.
How long we keep it
- Your profile, workout summaries and coaching: while you have an account.
- Coach run records and cost records: 12 months.
- When you delete your account, everything above is deleted at once. Encrypted backups of the database are kept for 30 days, so a deleted account is gone from them within 30 days.
Your rights
- Download your data: Settings › Coach account › Download my data gives you everything we hold about you, as a JSON file.
- Delete your account: Settings › Coach account › Delete account deletes your account and everything we hold, and withdraws your consent. The workouts on your phone stay there. Without the app, email apps@stellarspectra.co.uk from the address you signed in with, or see workouts.stellarspectra.co.uk/delete-account.
- Correct it: change it in the app, or email us.
- You can also ask us to restrict or stop using your data, or for a copy in another form. If you're unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Who it's for
Workouts is for adults. The Coach isn't for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change what we collect or why, we'll update this notice and ask you to agree again before anything more is sent.
